Eligible students may qualify for tuition assistance through the VSAC non-degree grant. Please apply for this program immediately if you are considering a course and need tuition support. Students who meet income and employment guidelines may also qualify for support through the Vermont Department of Labor, and students with disabilities may qualify through HireAbility. However, both of these organizations require applications at least 2 weeks before a program start date. Please call 802-382-1004 for more information.

ADULT EDUCATION COURSES

ENROLLMENT FEE AND PAYMENT PLANS

  • Students approved for funding through VSAC, DOL, or other funding source may be eligible for enrollment fee exemption at the discretion of the Assistant Director for Adult Education. This decision will be based upon likelihood of funding approval and number of available seats in the class.

  • Payment plans may be authorized for tuition only if at least 50% of the funding is provided prior to the start of the class, either through self-funding or an external provider. Payment plans for the remainder of the tuition will be negotiated based on amount remaining and length of class but will require payment weekly. Payment plans will not be authorized for test or registration fees.

REFUNDS

  • Tuition refunds may be requested by individuals by notifying the PAHCC Adult Education Office at 802-382-1004 of your intent to withdraw from a class. Students who withdraw at least five business days before the beginning of a class will receive a full refund. Students who withdraw after this date may receive a prorated refund, minus enrollment fee, at the discretion of the Assistant Director for Adult Education. This decision will be based upon the number of students in the class and if the seat being refunded prevented another student from attending due to class size. The refund is not to exceed the prorated schedule for institutional payees listed on the following schedule:

    • Attendance of two weeks or less…………..refund 80% less $50 registration fee

    • Attendance of two to three weeks…………refund 60% less $50 registration fee

    • Attendance of three to four weeks ………..refund 40% less $50 registration fee

    • Attendance of four to five weeks………..…refund 20% less $50 registration fee

  • If a student notifies PAHCC of their intent to withdraw later than five weeks after the start of a course, no refund shall be issued.

  • If an individual class is rescheduled due to inclement weather or other reason, students will either be offered a make-up class or pro-rated refund. If a course offering is canceled by PAHCC due to low enrollment or any other cause, students will be issued a full refund including enrollment fee.
