This program provides college and technical school candidates the knowledge and technical drawing skills necessary for a sound background in architectural and mechanical drafting. Students prepare industrial drawings such as sectional assemblies and dimensioned working drawings. Use of the computer (C.A.D.) is an extensive part of this curriculum. The architectural phase consists of residential house design and the study of building materials used in house construction. First year students attend in the morning.

Advanced computer-aided design and student projects are part of this course. During the second semester students may choose to complete their set of house plans (foundation – sections – details – electrical) or pursue an additional computer-assisted mechanical drafting section in solid modeling as part of the curriculum. Interested students can participate in local, state and national competitions through VICA club membership.
