Design & Illustration is a one-year graphic design program. Through projects, students create illustrations intended to clarify information. Any material or process can be used to make an illustration, including: photography, drawing & painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture, embroidery, and more; it is only limited by your imagination!
The class is focused on creativity, innovation and design. Some of the projects students create will include: drink design & advertisement, logo design, poster and brochure design, publications, and greeting cards.
Topics covered include: typography, book arts, the use of equipment used in the industry, such as the digital drawing tablet.
This program is designed to have students apply their ideas to real-world scenarios, and explore careers in the arts. Students will create portfolio-ready work through the use of traditional materials (charcoal, watercolor, pastel, etc.) in combination with technology (computers, digital cameras and scanner, eletronic drawing tablets) using industry-recognized software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator). The program has it’s own website at: Design & Illustration
