Construction Technology

Through classroom lessons in building systems and theory, as well as shop experiences, students will develop knowledge and skills in multiple building systems including structural, mechanical, thermal, and design components. Universal foundational skills such as safety, professional conduct, communication and use of construction documents, blueprint reading, and tool use will be stressed. Shop projects will provide opportunities to immediately apply classroom content knowledge. Students wil prepare for entry into careers in a wide variety of more specialized building trades including carpentry, plumbling, electrical, HVAC, masonry, and energy efficiency.
